BOEN and “Camp Eventyrlig” (“Adventurous Camping”)

At idyllic Ra Camping outside Arendal, six Norwegian celebrities have been given the challenge of renovating their own camping cabins in just six days. Halvor Bakke is leading this new creative interior design TV programme. Among the participants are actress Line Verndal, celebrity chef Kjartan Skjelde and radio host Yasmin Mehmood, all of whom have chosen BOEN parquet as an important part of the interior of their cabins. With free rein to create unique expressions, the three have put their personal stamp on the projects - and the results are nothing short of impressive.

Yasmin Mehmood: Oriental elegance

Inspired by Morocco, Yasmin creates a cabin that oozes warmth and exotic charm. Terracotta-coloured walls contrast with a dark pigmented BOEN parquet floor that adds calm and balance. Patterned tiles and soft, layered textiles give the interior a modern feel, reminiscent of ‘a thousand and one nights’. Yasmin, who is new to the renovation world, nevertheless laid the parquet herself and achieved a perfect result.

Line Verndal: Natural and green

Line draws inspiration from nature and a special photograph that sets the tone for the interior. Green tones from the surroundings outside the cabin are reflected in the wall colours and details, combined with a warm, white pigmented BOEN Oak floor and black accents. To emphasise the warm glow of the oak parquet, she adds textiles in golden shades such as yellow and orange. The result is a cabin that feels embracing, natural and tough - a perfect balance between the soft and the contrasting. Impressively, Line lays the parquet herself, with great success.

Kjartan Skjelde: Functional commercial kitchen style

Kjartan brings his love for the kitchen into the cabin. With smart solutions and a well-thought-out plan, he creates a social space that feels much bigger than it actually is. Light-coloured walls and kitchen fittings give an airy impression, while BOEN's warm, deep brushed oak floor takes centre stage. This contributes to both good acoustics and a solid sense of quality. Kjartan shows that with a little focus and patience, installing parquet flooring can be a manageable task - and the result is an inclusive and functional cabin.

Small cabins - big dreams

Although the cabins at Ra Camping are small in size, the inspiration is big. Each participant has had the opportunity to be creative and create small masterpieces that reflect their personal style. BOEN's parquet has helped give the cabins a solid, warm and aesthetic boost - just what is needed to turn a small space into a cosy sanctuary.
