This episode of Eventyrlig Oppussing, a renowned Norwegian TV show about renovation, design and cabin culture takes place in Høgevarde, a popular mountain destination about two hours north-west of Oslo. Høgevarde is known for its unspoilt nature and offers spectacular hiking and cycling routes as well as skiing on snow-covered slopes. Especially in winter, the area transforms into an idyllic snow paradise that attracts visitors with its tranquillity and beauty.
Hans Christian Gulsvik lives in Flå where he and his wife have taken over a farm and a cabin at the foot of Høgevarde. They share a deep love of nature and spend a lot of time skiing and cycling in the mountains. Their cabin is a meeting place for friends and family who want to enjoy the mountains. The location of the cabin offers a breathtaking view of the surrounding mountains, but there were some challenges when it came to the design and functionality of the cabin.
Their project focused on modernising and extending the hut to create more space and a functional, open-plan design. A particular highlight is the new flooring, which uses our Oak Brown Jasper parquet. This warm oak wood not only gives the rooms an elegant look, but also creates a cosy atmosphere throughout the cabin. The floor has been installed in all the main rooms, including the bathroom, and fits in perfectly with the natural surroundings. In addition, they installed larger windows to allow more light into the cabin and to better enjoy the spectacular sunsets towards Fagerlinatten.
