This episode of Eventyrlig Oppussing, a renowned Norwegian TV show about renovation, design and cabin culture, took us to the idyllic coastal town of Portør, known for its beautiful beaches and warm summer days. There, surrounded by rocks, sea and a marvellous natural landscape, lies a charming family cabin. Hoping for sunny days and warm temperatures, the owners were looking forward to showcasing the family atmosphere of their hut.

The hut was built in 1949 by the current owner's grandfather and has been an integral part of the family history ever since. It served as a holiday residence for the whole family and created many wonderful shared memories. Despite the strong emotional attachment to this place, the owners were forced to rent out the cottage for a few weeks each year to cover the high maintenance costs involved. In order to preserve the heritage while offering more comfort, they had decided to carry out a comprehensive renovation. The family dreamed of a modern kitchen, a proper bathroom and a laundry room.

The project focused on redesigning the interior, especially the living room and kitchen. The biggest change was the installation of a new floor with Oak Animoso Live Pure. The oak flooring creates a warm ambience and gives the cabin a modern touch. The choice of parquet for the kitchen and living room offers the perfect balance between functionality and style. While it impresses in the kitchen with its durability and longevity, it creates a warm and cosy atmosphere in the living room. This makes parquet the ideal choice for anyone who wants a uniform floor covering that is both practical and cosy. The combination of modern design and the rustic surroundings perfectly fits with the coastal landscape of Portør.

Additional windows were installed on the wall facing the sea-view veranda to let in more light and showcase the new floor. The ceiling was renewed and the walls were repainted to further enhance the ambience.
