Initial treatment

We recommend an initial treatment using the Oil Freshen Up. Apply it undiluted onto the floor using a lint-free cloth. One cap is enough for around 4 m². Let the surface dry and polish it afterwards.

Cleaning

Everyday cleaning should be dry, using a soft broom or a vacuum cleaner with a parquet attachment. For regular mopping, add three caps of the Floor Soap to 5 litres of water and wipe the floor damp. You can increase the amount you add for severely soiled floors (2 caps per 1 litre of water). Never soak your parquet floor with water: this causes swelling in the wood and can result in severe damage.

Care

Your oiled parquet needs occasional care using the Oil Freshen Up, especially if your floor sees heavy use and is often cleaned. This care treatment makes oiled surfaces more durable and resistant, restoring the silk-matt, natural sheen of worn-out surfaces. The floor must be clean and dry before use. Apply the Oil Freshen Up using a lint-free cloth. One cap is enough for around 4 m². Let the surface dry and polish it afterwards.

How often should I perform this treatment?

• For moderately-used floors, e.g. in bedrooms and living rooms: around once or twice a year.

• For floors with moderate to heavy use, e.g. in hallways or in office spaces with public traffic, it is around once a month, depending on the intensity of use.

Intensive cleaning and spot removal

For intensive cleaning of severely soiled floors, use the Floor Soap with a high mixing ratio (no more than 1:1). Clean the floor thoroughly with this concentrated soap solution, then mop it up using clean water to remove dirt and soap residue. Once the floor is completely dry, re-oil it using Natural Oil. A suitable repair kit is also available to remove deeper stains or scratches.

Important note

Early treatment with the Natural Oil is recommended if there are signs of wear: this makes it possible to keep the floor‘s surface intact in the long run. However, intensive cleaning must be performed first, as described above.
