A MOOD BOARD WORKSHOP: HOW TO DEFINE YOUR OWN INTERIOR STYLE
A while ago I had the pleasure to work with a very enthusiastic group of women wanting to
define their personal interior style. Together with BOEN Parkett Deutschland (boen.com/de/)
and the Marketing Team represented by Stefanie Grubbe, we offered a creative workshop
followed by an exquisite dinner at The George Hotel( thegeorge-hotel.de)
in Hamburg (Deutschland).

The idea was to show a technique that helps to gain clarity and see how different elements such
as wooden flooring samples (courtesy of BOEN), colours, wallpaper, fabrics and tear sheets
could work together before taking purchase decisions.

After some introduction from my part of how to use the technique, filter materials and finally
convey a coherent message, we started straight away.

A lot materials were available to play around and see how they possibly could work together.
Being able to include BOEN's parquet floor samples made this creative session really special
because there is quite anything that gives such a warm touch to a home as a wood flooring does.

I often realize in my workshops that most of the people have clear ideas of how they want to live,
but the question that pops up most of the time is, "What is exactly my style?". Another doubt that
kept coming up is "What can I combine with what?"

That's why this tool is so effective since you can add elements, take them out, replace them by
others until you finally feel confident with your overall look. There is no right or wrong, the end result
just has to feel good. Often, it's our gut feeling that guides us along but in combination with a few learned
techniques, the outcome can be really pleasant and often unexpected.
BOEN's catalog, really well designed and offering many inspirational ideas, helped as well to guide through
the interior styles such as Pure Nordic, Urban Contrast, Modern Rustic and Classic Elegance.

Our participants had a great time - is there anything more grateful than working with your hands
and get away from the screen for a while?- and were able to take a firm proposition with them home.
These are a few of the final outcomes:

We received really lovely feedback from our participants, and it's been great fun!

Christina:
Absolutely fantastic! Finally I have the possibility to visualize what I have in mind before
I redecorate my home if the selected items like furniture, wall paper, colours etc. fit together.

Dagmar:
What a great evening! With the moodboard in my hands I really would like to start redecorate
my home tomorrow. And I can be sure, that everything fits together. Thank you so much!
